During our inaugural year 2019-early 2020 we are only open M-W-F
Starting in June 2020 we will be open Monday through Friday.
Our hours are 7 am - 6pm.
Our address is
23580 Natchez Ave
Lakeville, MN 55044
Weekly Tuition for the 2019/2020:
$150 Three days a week
$100 Two days a week
$50 One day a week
Included with your tuition is lunch and two snacks daily. We strive to serve only healthy meals and snacks and choose organic whenever possible, choose fresh or frozen fruit and vegetables over canned vegetables and choose foods with no added sugar. Pizza is not a vegetable here!
We also have a maximum student to teacher ratio of 5:1. This is much smaller than you will find in most programs. The state of Minnesota preschool standard is 10:1, and many school-district sponsored programs run with many more students to teachers. We have a maximum of 10 students per day.
We do keep a waitlist for future years. To be added to a future waitlist, please contact us via email or phone.
We will contact parents on a waitlist as spots open. Since we are a mixed age class and school runs year round, this means that we cannot anticipate when and how many spots we will have open. We will likely have spots open up in September as some of our friends venture off to Kindergarten each year and this is likely when we will have spots to fill. You will be contacted in June of the year you are on the waitlist for to be informed of the current status of future openings.
Children must be 33 months old on their first day of attendance and must be toilet trained. We will happily help children into pull-ups for nap time, and we understand accidents happen but we cannot change diapers on a regular basis due to being outdoors. Children are able to be enrolled up until their first day of kindergarten.
A week tuition deposit is required at the time of enrollment in order to hold your child's spot.
Because we are a nature-based school, children are required to have the following items in order to attend 10 Acre Wood:
-A clean change of clothes, including undergarments
-A second clean, dry pair of closed-toed footwear
-Bogs boots or REI rain boots
-Jacket with removable fleece lining: Columbia Omnitech or Bugaboo
-Base layer of thin silk or wool long underwear
-Middle layer of slightly thicker silk or wool leggings
-Heavyweight layer of fleece leggings
-Rain pants (not snow pants): Oakiwear, Lands End or REI
-"Sleeping bag" style mittens (unzip from wrist to finger tip): Gordini, Outdoor Research or REI
To enroll, you must first set up a meeting with Ms. Hannah. This can be done by clicking "Enroll Now" up above and scheduling either a school tour or an enrollment meeting. During this meeting you and Ms. Hannah will discuss the requirements of being a parent at a nature-based preschool and what these entail, get to know what you are looking for out of your education and discuss whether or not your child is an overall good fit for our school. Any questions you have will be answered during this time.
If everyone agrees 10 Acre Wood is a good fit for your child, congratulations! Next, there are several important documents to fill out. These will be given to you in your meeting, or emailed to you. This paperwork must be filled out in its entirety before your child's first day of attendance. There is a one-week deposit due with your enrollment, which may be used for your last week of tuition with us.
