Ms. abbie

Teaches Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Hi, friends!

My name is Abbie Krohn, and I am so excited to join the 10 Acre Woods team. I grew up in southern Minnesota exploring my uncle's farm, mushroom hunting with my dad, and going to various nature centers with my grandparents. Nature played a huge role in my upbringing, as did theatre. This led me to obtain my Bachelor of the Arts in Theatre through the University of Northwestern. Currently, I am working on completing my Masters in Education through Hamline University, with a focus in Natural Science and Childhood Education. It's funny how things have come full circle! :)

Some fun facts about me: I worked as a professional set and props designer for the Twin Cities theatre scene for five years, so creating things with my hands and designing spaces are some of my favorite past times. My other hobbies include reading, camping, hiking, kayaking, cooking, and thrifting in my spare time. I also love tacos, the colors orange and green, and spending time outside. My partner and I have two cats, Sherman, and Bones. They're my babies!

Inspiring imagination and wonder are the main lenses I focus my teaching through, and I am a big believer in child-led learning. I am so looking forward to learning and exploring alongside your students!
